The Dap
The Dap magazine was first set up in January 2008, by two Journalism students in South West London who wanted to do more with their degree then the standard lecture-loan ratio. Since January 2008 the support The Dap has received has gone from strength to strength. Now sponsored by Gig Junkie: www.gigjunkie.net and a growing and ever-changing team of writers behind it. The magazine aims to be eclectic in what it publishes with writers passionate about Hip-Hop, Indie, Techno, Jungle, Dubstep, Rock, Grime and Electronica. There are 3 issues a year of The Dap in, February, June and October. It has been stocked in various venues around Camden and Brick Lane such as The Roundhouse, Tommy Flynns, Electric Ballrooms, 93 Ft East and Rough Trade East. The Dap is a non-profit organisation that aims to be a platform for journalism students and aspiring writers to get their work out there and get published.
